Giving Gikuyu language consultation at Rice University linguistics department, and co-authored A Basic Sketch Grammar of Gikuyu 2015

Setting up and running the Swahili programme at the University of Cambridge (CAS) for three years until 2013

Setting grading and marking Swahili International General Certificate of Secondary Education Exams for the Edexcel Examining Board 2008-2012

Delivering lectures in Swahili Grammar at the University of London (SOAS) and setting exams and supervising two tutors 2007-2008

Tutoring and organising undergraduate study groups and conferences about Language and Culture in Africa 2001-2005

Heading the Swahili department at Braeburn International School in Nairobi, Kenya 1983-1986

Co-ordinating progress of 1:1 tutees, and that of business groups in various locations in the UK including the SOAS Language Centre (LC) the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) 2008-2013

The Language Expert position in the Ridley Scott Movie Prometheus (out June 2012) appearing in the Full List of Credits for Automated Voice (Swahili).

Working as the chief court interpreter (Leigh Day & Co) at the Royal Courts of Justice London in a major historical legal case on Mau Mau freedom fighters versus the FCO 2012

Training to use the latest equipment in teaching, voice recording, transcribing, translating and interpreting and has worked for Channel 4 (C4) Dispatches ,and Cable News Network (CNN) Revealed documentary TV programmes 2009.

Contributing to Swahili language change debate by giving interviewed for live radio by BBC World Service Dira ya Dunia Programme (Bush House) and provided language advice for a BBC Media Centre Current Affairs programme (White City) 2006.
